The Cobb family of Rock Hill was related to the Frew and Ratterree families. Mr. Charles L. Cobb was one of Rock Hill’s 20th century businessmen who helped improve the community and expand the banking business around People’s National Bank and People’s Trust Company, of which he was Sec.-Tres. for much of his adult life. His interests included financing, Rock Hill history, land development and the social life of Rock Hill.

Rock Hill City Directories: 1908/1925 – C.L. Cobb, 1936 – Rupert F. Torrence and Nettle Torrence (RHP&F Co.), 1938 – Daniel M. Reed and Sara C. Reed (Foreman RHP&F Co.)  – Mr. C.L. Cobb, was the President of Peoples National Bank and Peoples trust Company of Rock Hill and also served on Home Federal Savings and Loan’s Board of Directors starting in 1908 for a period of 45 years.
